Oak Fireplace Mantle and Matching Bookcases
This Oak Mantle with matching Oak Bookcases was a fun project. Challenges were encountered due to the older homes’ lack of square, however when installed it fit beautifully into the space. The clients for this project were looking for a wraparound Mantle with bookcases set back. All fronts and trim are solid Red Oak, while Oak veneer ply was used for the bigger carcass sides, etc. The focal point in the center of the Mantle is an Oak carved Scottish Thistle from the UK. Solid half round Oak columns are located on either side of the Mantle, with top trim wrapping all three pieces. Finish is Minwax Red Mahogany, with several coats of wipe on poly. This piece is not only very functional with the bookcase capacity, but also very beautiful within the older home.
Media Console
This Media Console reflects the French country consoles adorned with Cremone Bolt hardware. This particular console is eight feet long, and was made for a Client’s media room to reflect their current style. Made from solid Red Oak and Oak veneer, the console has solid raised panel doors, and end panels. Three sets of doors are secured with black powder coated Cremone Bolts that lock at both top and bottom with a twist of the center handle. The center section has a fixed shelf and a cable management hole at the rear of the cabinet, while the side cabinets have an adjustable shelf with three locations for flexible storage options. A darker stain, covered with several coats of a protective coating make the Oak grain pop!
Various size Consoles can be made to fit within each Clients space, with four doors for smaller Consoles. Glass door panels is also an option.
Maple Coffee Table
This particular coffee table was once a Maple Dining Room table. The Clients wanted to “recycle” their older dining table, into a display coffee table for their cottage. The Maple top is complimented with black powder coated metal legs, and tempered glass for viewing objects they wished to display. To access the inside of the display area, a hidden drawer with no visible hardware was used under the glass. The display section is large and deep enough for several keepsake pieces. A Jacobean stain was applied under several coats of wipe on poly, for long lasting protection.
Oak Mantle
This solid Oak Mantle was made to fit onto a floor to ceiling stone fireplace, and over the existing stone mantle. The wrap around design gives the Clients the ability to place items on the front and sides of the mantle. The dark red stain, makes the Oak grain stand out. All dimensions can be adjusted to fit a variety of fireplaces. This particular Mantle was attached with no visible hardware.
Corner Maple Table
This solid corner Maple table has a solid curved front apron on both upper and lower levels. THe specific request from the client was for a shelf to be added to the lower part of the table. Finish is several coats of clear wipe on Satin Poly. Tapered legs starting from the upper apron provide a more delicate feel to the overall piece. Measuring 36″ x 36″ on the sides, this table is perfect for a corner in a living room or bedroom.
Cherry and Glass Cabinet (TV or Other)
This Cherry TV cabinet is perfect for today’s large flat or curved screen TVs. Four solid Cherry cabinet doors, with smoked glass inserts provide ample storage and privacy for the TV auxiliary components. This cabinet also has a glass top to ensure scrathces and normal wear and tear do not show up on the solid Cherry top and at the same time allow for viewing the beautiful Cherry grain. Adjustable glass shelves for each section allow for height adjustments for specific objects. Chrome legs provide for ample room under the cabinet. Overall cabinet size can be adjusted to fit a specific room or TV.
Live Edge Walnut Cabinet / Display
This live edge Walnut cabinet, was designed and built to go under a wall mount TV, but can be used anywhere in a room. Items can be placed and displayed on top of the 2″ thick live edge or within the boxed out cabinet. A suspended, walnut wrapped drawer was installed in the upper corner to provide storage for misc items, such as remotes, etc. The drawer handle is hidden in the front drawer face. Hairpin legs provide a more subtle look than bulky wooden legs for this piece. Finish is several coats of Livos natural colour.
Walnut / Glass Coffee Table
2” thick live edge Walnut slabs, separated by 3/8” glass. Polished (to a chrome like finish) aluminum U shaped legs allowing for an unobstructed view through the length of table. Finished in dark pigment stain to compliment clients floor colour. The table measures: 60” L x 20” W x 18.25” H.
Cherry Fluted Book Case
This cabinet contains 5 varying size drawers with grain matched fronts, and 2 cabinet sections which contain 3 glass shelves each. The cabinet sections are contained inside Cherry doors with bronze glass embedded into the panel frame door. The drawers are fully extendable to allow access to full depth, and are made of solid Cherry with dovetail joinery. The finish is a dark stain, with several coats of wipe on satin poly. Dimensions of the cabinet are: 52.5” H x 49” W x 15.5” D.
